welcome to this obligated “welcome-to-my-blog” post. Let me introduce myself.
My name is Alice, I’m twenty-something and I’m a graduate student at my local university. This is the first time I’ll be keeping a blog, so don’t mind my spelling and grammar mistakes. For the record: Alice is not my real name and English is not my native language. So why this blog?
This year I was diagnosed with (symptoms of) borderline disorder. To me, it felt like a big relief. When I found out I did a lot of research: books, internet and film. However, there was one thing I couldn’t find: personal experiences. For some reason there aren’t a lot of personal blogs about BPD. That’s why I wanted to start a blog about it. I want to share my story, inspire you and show that you’re not alone. Besides that I’m looking for other people who have gone trough the same experiences.
I find a big relief in writing my feelings down. Most of the time I’m writing in a journal, but this time I want to share my story. If there’s just one person I can help or inspire, if there’s just one person who recognizes my story, I feel like I’m doing something right. To conclude: I’m not a doctor or a psychiatrist, I’m not an expert. I’m just telling my personal story: good and bad.
Anyway. This is why this blog exists. Not everything will be about therapy or BPD, I’ll be posting other stuff as well (movies, food, …).
