On a bad day I love to crawl up in bed and watch tv-series all day. With food of course, as mentioned in my last blog post. TV-series or movies allow me to kill the hours and transport me to “another world”.
Here are a few of my favorite series to watch on a rainy day:
1. Once Upon a Time (ABC)
Once Upon a Time is a dramatical/phantasy serie. The story takes place in a fictional village called Storybooke, whose residents are fairytale characters. They have been transported to “the real world”, where they are cursed. All residents lost their memories, but there are a lot of flashbacks.
I really liked the first three seasons very much. The other seasons are ok. It’s about family, love, loss and friendship, with a lot of twists during the episodes.
2. Avatar: The Last Airbender (Nickelodeon)
I used to watch this serie when it aired on Nick in the early 2000’s and, yes, I still watch it sometimes. The series follows Aang, the Avatar and the only one who can bend all four elements, on his journey to stop the Fire Nation, stop the war and bring peace to the country. During his journey he makes new friends and together they experience a lot of adventures. It’s an animated series with a lot of humor and fun, but also deep stuff (doing the right thing, difference between good and bad,…).
3. 90210 (CW)
About a bunch of teens who are living the luxury life in Beverly Hills. I got interested in the series because it’s a no-brainer and one of the characters (Silver) has bipolar disease. Everyone’s hooking up with each other, but you’ll get used to it.
4. The 100 (CW)
After a nuclear war, human survivors are living in a space station. The series starts when they are sending 100 young delinquents to earth. They have one goal: start a new civilization and find Mt. Weather. But apparently they are not alone at all…
This is a great serie, it has become a little bit more complicated since the last season tough. There are a lot of strong, female characters which I like. Girls can lead too.
5. Pretty Little Liars (ABC)
PLL is an ABC-series about a group of friends who get stalked by someone called “A”. While solving the mystery about the identity of “A”, they scared that “A” will leak their dearest secrets.
I stopped watching at the ending of season 7 (after the time jump) because of the plot-holes and everything became just ridiculous, especially the relationships/ships. It became clear that the writers were writing what the audience wanted and I was tired of it. It’s still fun to watch the earlier seasons though. The actresses are great and I love their friendship.
6. Parks and Recreation (NBC)
Parks and Rec is about a park department and their public officials in the fictional city Pawnee in Indiana. I love this series, especially the characters. It’s really funny and absurd, so it really distracts me from other stuff.
> I have to admit it’s really hard to watch this when I’m having a superb bad day. It’s comedy and when I’m feeling miserable, it’s not the best option.
7. Random YouTube Videos: interviews and vlogs
